In Corona times and during the Ukrainian war, deficits in product and material availability become apparent. This is due to an interruption of supply chains, internationalization of production sites but also from limited natural resources. This situation should make clear the urgent need for improving and expanding our recycling activities.
So, where do we stand with our recycling activities? How often can we recycle a material or product at what quality? How can we make product recycling more transparent and more informative to the consumer for their purchase decision and do we have to optimize circular economy regarding material and product avoidance? How do we deal with the non - avoidable residues? Industry claims recycling successes but how much is “Greenwashing”?
Other themes to discuss may be the effect of sending used electrical and electronic products, separately collected plastics and fashion from Europe to economically developing countries?
Can we base our strategy for saving resources solely on future inventions and/or the self - regulation of the market? What are the roles of politics, media and society?
We will discuss these urgent themes of today with our guests from politics, media and science including the participation of the audience.
