Workshop: Quality control in Circular Economy
Chair / Presidente: Carly Fletcher (UK)
Quality is a fundamental issue to be kept under consideration in the different Circular Economy steps: Industries should design and manufacture their products from more sustainable materials, limit or avoid the use of toxic chemicals, while reducing the impact of emissions from manufacturing processes / Presence of toxic chemicals might accumulate during recycling loops influencing the recycled products quality while influencing negatively the quality of processing emissions / Liquid and solid residues from Circular Economy should be managed in a way to close the material loops designing sustainable sinks where uncontrolled emissions of contaminants would occur. Experiences and Strategies will be discussed during the workshop. Introductory lectures:
S. Dworak (AT)
Recycling rates - the higher the better?
J. Lederer (AT)
The relevance of sampling for urban mining and circular economy using the built environment as a case study
