SUM 2025

SUM 2025 – 8th Multidisciplinary Symposium on Circular Economy and Urban Mining – took place from 21 to 23 May 2025 on the stunning island of Procida, Naples, Italy.

Following the great success of the 2024 edition, with the huge attendance of delegates from 34 countries, and considering the intense and rapid development of topics and issues related to Circular Economy, the SUM Symposium has become an annual event, reinforcing the multidisciplinary approach.

Organized in the unique and inspiring setting of Procida, SUM 2025 brought together 169 attendees from 22 countries, including leading international experts, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers — representing diverse disciplinary backgrounds — to explore the latest advancements and key challenges in circular economy, sustainable resource management, and urban mining.

The programme featured more than 120 presentations, organised in 3 parallel tracks of oral sessions and workshops, and a poster session.
